can we all just agree that myspace and i have different definitions of "cool*"?

this is what i saw when i logged on to dorkspace this morning.

*specifically, i don't think that discriminating against homosexual people, working to eliminate access to safe abortions, opposing gun control laws, promoting a flat tax that disproportionately targets poor people, and just generally being lame are very cool. just sayin'.

The first two points are pretty damning, imo.

he doesn't object to gun control, he's just happy with the existing laws. I think the existing laws are too restrictive. The people commiting crimes with guns will get them regardless of the law. The answer is to put violent offenders in jail.

Um, I think you mean flat, not flax, but x and t aren't particularly close to each other.. maybe a particular variety of Freudian slip?

hello anonymous,

yeah, i have no patience for homobigotry or antichoicery either.

i disagree that existing gun laws are too restrictive. in some states, there are no limits on the number of guns a person can buy at once, guns are sold at gun shows (with no waiting period and no background check), guns don't have to be registered, people can purchase assault rifles, etc.

even with more restrictive laws, some people will undoubtedly commit crimes with guns...but if certain kinds of weapons are illegal, they will be more difficult to obtain.

and yeah, i fixed the "flax tax" error. i think "flax" is a kind of nice-sounding word. but you are right, that wasn't what i intended to say.

thanks for reading.
